I was an atheist

“I was an atheist, and God was not a part of my life growing up, but I had some friends who were Christians. When we hung out, they would share their experiences with church. Later, as a teenager I had a lot of emotional hurt and pain and questions, and I was looking for something to help deal with that pain, and those things my friends had shared came back to me. I went back to those friends and started going to church. From there, I was able to let go of old things that were holding me back in my faith.”

  1. My faith in how the Holy Spirit works is strengthened through reading your story. May you be blessed for sharing it.

We each have a story to tell. One of the most important stories we can tell are occasions when our faith in Jesus Christ was strengthened.

Yes! Praising God!
#onefaithmanyfaces

Yes! Praising God!
#onefaithmanyfacesWe bless God for Richard's recent profession of faith!

In the Christian Reformed Church (CRC), public profession of faith includes a commitment to the creeds and confessions of the CRC and includes the responsibility of full participation in the work, life, and mutual discipline of the local congregation and the universal body of Christ.

As a "confessing member," Richard will continue to be encouraged to follow, connect, & serve, and will in turn disciple and encourage others at Discovery and his community.

Do you have questions about what public profession of faith is and why we do it? Drop them in the comments below.
