Thursday evenings are a special time at Covenant CRC. This is when a group of 25-30 differently abled adults meet to worship and praise God.

The evening begins with songs interspersed with questions about Gods love for us, and what he has done for us. A video is usually shown explaining some aspect from the Bible, then it is time for a craft and snacks. Special meetings are set aside for Bingo, and a pizza night.

This group has been meeting at Covenant since 1979, and many participants have been there the entire time, and are now in their 60’s and even some older than that. There have been several leaders over time. Current leaders or “teachers” as they are called are, Jim Orange, Carol Poelstra (piano), Linda Tiemeyer, Marley Barr, Sue Burkett, Marty Gort, and Barb Bol.

The theme of Friendship is always Jesus love for us and what he has done for us, and what our response to him needs to be. The second verse to “Jesus Loves Me” as sung by the friendship friends is: “ Jesus loves the Friendship Kids,He died on the cross so we can live. We get together on Thursday night to sing and SHOUT with all our might.”

If you have a special place in your heart for those who are differently able, feel free to join us on Thursday nights. 7-8:30 PM.
