Celebrating Easter Twice

A friend of mine living in West Michigan celebrated Easter twice this year.  The first celebration was in his church, and the second time was in Ukraine. The Western church celebrated Easter on March 31st this year, while the Eastern church celebrated Easter on May 5. It seems that the churches are celebrating Easter based on two different calendars, the Western church follows the Gregorian calendar, while the Eastern church follows the Julian calendar.
