Campus Ministry @ Grand Rapids

On Sunday nights during the school year, Campus Ministry @ Grand Rapids comes together for a Sunday night worship gathering called “The Well” at Eden Cafe/Bridge Street Ministries in Grand Rapids. This picture was taken on the last Sunday of the semester. We gathered at Eden Cafe/ Bridge Street Ministries for dinner and sharing testimonies before heading to Allendale for our final Well worship service of the semester.

A church small group from Classis South provided us with dinner and sat with us around the tables–beautifully portraying the body of Christ. The conversation revolved around a question, “How have you seen God this year?” At my table two students shared how they were baptized this past year after coming to know Jesus. Students testified to the fruit of saying “yes” to God this year. They grew in stepping out in faith and doing new things like going evangelizing on Friday afternoons or sharing their faith story at the Well or joining a Campus Ministry leadership team. They shared about how they grew to love God’s Word and seek him first. One student in particular committed to read and write summaries of every chapter of the Bible she was reading.

They testified to the fruit of being discipled and making disciples and how they want to continue doing that. A worship intern who is graduating says she wants to find a way to host a worship night in her new community where she’ll be moving. A nursing student shared how she is going to seek out a nurse on her new floor in the hospital to disciple her. Another testified to how God led them to boldly invite two non-believers to Bible study and they have been coming every week since.

God is SO good! Thanks so much for your prayers and support of Campus Ministry. Just as we were able to partner with this church at the end of the semester, my prayer is that these students stay connected to the local church this summer and continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus and life in his Kingdom!
