Providence CRC’s partnership with Glenwood Elementary School continues to grow and thrive. Our Hand2Hand ministry at Glenwood finished at the end of the school year when we were regularly packing back packs full of food for 70 students a week.

Over the summer our team has been working toward supporting even more kids in the upcoming school year. Continued planning and renovations are underway to create space in the church for the food. We are also working toward applying to Feeding America in order to purchase food at wholesale prices. And finally, this week we will start asking for food donations in order to build up the required inventory to start the year strong.

Hand2Hand is one aspect of our partnership with Glenwood. This ministry provides for kids physical needs through weekend food. Kids Hope provides mentoring for students who need that extra love and support to thrive in school. Kids Life Bible Club provides for students spiritual needs throughout the school year as we share the gift of the scriptures.

During the summer we run Dream Big which helps the students use their imagination to Dream of their own future by showing them different careers. We will end Dream Big with a celebration night at our church where we get to show them the best future – a future in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pray for our volunteers and for these precious kids who we love deeply.
