A big Thanksgiving banquet

Discovery Church Fall Report – 2018

This quarter has been a busy one for the Outreach team here at Discovery Church. Around Thanksgiving, we traditionally gather donated food and then pack “Thanksgiving boxes” for families in need.

This year, with the hope of strengthening our relationships with our neighbors, the Outreach team decided to try something different. Instead of giving families a turkey, stuffing, etc. we thought it would be great to have a big Thanksgiving banquet. Families from Discovery do the cooking/baking and all our neighbors had to do was come and enjoy a time of great food and fellowship.

When the day of the banquet came, God blessed us with an overabundance of food!

We had a good turnout from the surrounding neighborhood as well. Out of the total 60 people who attended, 20 people did not have a connection to Discovery!

Overall it was a great event and it was evident that God blessed the work of Discovery church.
