When Rachel came to 70×7 she was caught in a storm of abuse. Not only an abusive relationship but past substance abuse left her broken, lost, and staying at hotels to just get by. At 70×7, Rachel gained clarity through our Changes program and started working on sobriety and the other hard things she needed to move away from her past. She volunteered to cook for the Serving Together group. She began rebuilding her relationship with the Lord after attending 70×7 programs and became the Praise Worship Leader at the church she started attending.
Because of her renewed relationship with Christ, she now runs a women’s Bible study. When Rachel moved into our new Moran Park Home, our Housing Program Manager, Wendy Dreese, saw her leadership skills and made her the House Lead. She holds the women accountable, provides guidance and strength and she is an amazing spiritual leader for the women in our housing program.
Rachel’s compassion and empathy in addition to all of her other gifts have made Rachel a huge asset to the 70×7 ministry.
