10 years ago on this very day, my whole life changed. I rarely discuss my personal health with others, but today I’m making an exception and choosing to share Gods faithfulness.

10 years ago today my cancer was removed. As I look back on my 18 year old self, I’m flooded with emotion. Tears- a mixture of sadness and joy, anxiety, fear, pain, relief…the list goes on and on.

Waking up that morning, I knew things would be different. I knew I’d have a big surgery ahead of me, full of pain and a long road of recovery. But I also prayed and hoped that after enduring this surgery, my cancer would be GONE.

After the procedure and several rounds of radiation that followed, the cancer was removed. Praise be to God!!

Today I am reminded of Gods faithfulness and His healing hand over me. I’m grateful for each new day and full of gratitude for all He has blessed me with. He has given me an amazing husband who supports me and continues to walk with me through this journey and I couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you Lord!!!

One of the many verses that has encouraged me through the last 10 years is Jeremiah 29:11.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I still cling to this verse today with the many ups and downs of life, but today, I’m once again reminded of Gods faithfulness and remember how He’s brought me so far.

I’ll continue to lean on this verse when things get tough and remember He holds my future in the palm of His hands
