Streams Of Hope Serving the community – Spring 2017

Chick-fil-A Stuff-a-Truck Event

We extend our thanks to Chick-fil-A, the Kent County Sheriff’s Department, and all the families who came out to support our recent Stuff-A-Truck event! Hosted by the new Chick-fil-A Kalamazoo Street location on a recent Saturday morning, participants could stop by with bags of food for Streams of Hope and have an opportunity to climb in the KCSD tactical team truck and enjoy some great Chick-fil-A food! Thank you to all who made this a great event!

Streams of Hope provides a food center for people in need in the Gaines Township area and is requesting continued support. In addition, various enrichment, educational and recreational programs are provided for children and adults.

Many of the clients who receive food from Streams of Hope have returned as volunteers. They have all made comments in regards to the kindness shown to recipients and wanted to “give back.”

Heath Care Partnership

Recently, Streams of Hope has formed a partnership with Exalta Health to provide medical care to local residents. Streams of Hope has also started a partnership with Spring Grand Rapids providing 12-week programs for adults who are interested in starting a small business.

Serving the Community

Steams of Hope is currently serving over 550 families a month, offering nutrition programs, healthy cooking classes and will be starting the community garden in May. Instruction in gardening will be provided.
