Wayland Christian Reformed Church is a down-to-earth group of people who love to spend time together, both in and out of church. Their joy in their salvation spills over into everything they do.

Opportunities for fellowship abound. While they have a full slate of daytime and evening women’s and men’s Bible studies, they gather in many different ways throughout the year. A variety of groups meet regularly based on common interests, as well as lively clubs like the Red Hat Society. Summer brings men’s softball and golf leagues, as well as women’s softball, and even those who don’t play come to games to cheer on the team.

Much of their outreach is fellowship-based. They host a community breakfast every Saturday morning, with church members enjoying the meal with community members. Their large and active Wednesday evening GEMS and Cadets groups attract many neighborhood kids, and some of them bring their families to church on Saturdays.

The Young People’s Society keeps the teenagers of Wayland busy with bimonthly meetings, concerts, bowling, sports teams, and regular “service Saturdays” when they fan out to help their neighbors in need, as well as an annual mission trip.

Wayland also values learning and Christian education. The Word of God is central in their teaching, preaching, and singing. Adult Sunday school and Young People’s meetings are opportunities for them to engage, as Christians, with topics that affect the nation and wider world.
