Theological Book Network

Theological Book Network finished 2025 strong. December was one of the busiest months TBN has had in years. Thanks to the hard work of staff and the support of volunteers, three major international shipments were sent out, totaling more than 30,000 books with an estimated value of $770,000.

All three shipments went to Africa. The first shipment went to Kenya and was the largest of the month, with more than 14,000 books. In partnership with the regional theological accreditation agency, ACTEA (the Association for Christian Theological Education in Africa), these books will reach dozens of schools and hundreds of pastors. The second shipment went to Tunisia. TBN has been working for years to get books to Tunisia, and we are thrilled that it finally happened. The third and final shipment went to Ethiopia. In March, ACTEA will host a major conference for seminaries and church leaders from across Africa. While most of these books will go to seminaries and schools, some were sent specifically for the conference, allowing TBN to provide attendees with recent and applicable theological resources to support their studies and ministry.

Each shipment represents more than just books—it represents opportunity and encouragement for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Africa. At the heart of TBN’s work is a deep belief in the importance of theological education. Books were carefully placed in theological schools to strengthen training and equip the next generation of church leaders. Some long-awaited resources arrived in contexts where access to theological books is limited, bringing encouragement and new opportunities for students preparing for ministry. These resources help pastors and church leaders thoughtfully address the challenges facing their communities. Whether responding to conflict, poverty, injustice, or trauma, they are better equipped to point people to Jesus and care for the most vulnerable in their local contexts.

Thanks to your generosity, December was not just a month of shipments—it was a month of impact, hope, and new beginnings for theological students and church leaders across Africa.
