Connecting the downtown community with a life changing God, Monroe Community Church values the connections between people that create relationship, and celebrates the diversity needed to be encompassing to all people, no matter where they are in their spiritual journey. They value the many facets of the human experience that render community as it manifests through worship gatherings, church life and the daily lives of its people.
MCC is located in the Monroe North Neighborhood where they are an active part of the local business association to serve alongside their community leaders. Each year, Monroe Community Church serves as one of the independent venues for the international art competition held in Grand Rapids known as ArtPrize.
Individuals are esteemed at MCC and leave with a sense of belonging to all whom they meet here, including the children who are essential members of the community. Families discover that newborns through middle and high school ages are a cornerstone of the ministries they will find at MCC. It is their belief that people be empowered for service based on their spiritual gifts and are willing to try new things.
Gathering times are relevant, inclusive and participatory for people of all ages and backgrounds. Biblically-based worship incorporates the arts to glorify God and focus on Jesus with a dependence on the Holy Spirit. Prayer is valued as a guide for leadership, and intrinsic to the daily lives of its people as they accompany each other in their spiritual journeys.
