We were able to raise over $1000 to help build a school in the Congo. We raised around $2,000 above our budgeted funds to support our missionaries.
And we have 5 new members who are joining our church.
Jesus said let the little children come to me. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” We wanted to focus on calling our kids to “Live on Mission” throughout the summer. Each week, we sang a memory verse song that our worship director wrote based on our theme verse for the last step in our discipleship path, Love the World. We also shared about one of our missionaries who serve around the globe. We bought a giant globe beach ball to show the kids where each missionary serves. This not only helped our kids learn about the last step in our discipleship path but taught all the adults more about our missionaries and the global missions that we support.
For final two weeks of our kid’s messages, we will transition from global mission to how our kids can be the light of world in their own lives. We will talk about loving their neighbors and end by talking about how to live on mission at school. We hope they have learned from our missionaries and choose to live on mission as they go back to school.
To carry the theme into the rest of the service, we asked each of our missionaries to come and preach over the summer and share how they are light of the world. We are all being challenged to be the light of the world and make a difference in our community and world.
