Kelloggsville Church is a historic congregation in a changing urban neighborhood. They don’t merely face those changes, they embrace them and seek out ways for God to put them to work.

As their community grew more Hispanic, God called them to multicultural and multilingual ministry. They now have bilingual worship and every-age small group Bible studies on Sunday nights, Spanish-speaking staff, a bilingual women’s Bible study, and a multicultural all-ages group that plays soccer and does bilingual Bible study.

This is a church that is open to taking a risk – whether it’s as big as shifting their mission, or as fun as adventure sports, drop-in basketball, or indoor archery classes. If it might bring diverse people together, they’ll try it.

Making connections in their community is a driving ministry goal at Kelloggsville. They maintain partnerships with local businesses, schools, food banks and other organizations to better serve their corner of God’s kingdom. Some events are huge, like the annual summer block party and picnic for 800. Others have small but steady impact, like drop-in days for kids in the summer.

Even their building is put to use for the neighborhood as they host blood drives, ACT testing, election polls. Their feeling is, the more they function as a community center, the better.

Answering the call to increase their socio-economic and cultural diversity brings challenges, but learning how to “be Christ” with each other brings them deep joy and satisfaction.
