PRAY: Lord, I want my life to reflect the joy, peace, trust, and hope I have in you. Show me where to shine.
Monday – Day 13
Approaching God – Let the scope of God’s mercy, grace, and love overwhelm you as you read these words.
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?’ ‘Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?’ For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36)
Listening to God – We are called to live our lives in such a way that people see our “good deeds and glorify God” (1 Peter 2:12a). As you read the words from Romans 15:13, ask God to show you if and how well your life reflects the characteristics mentioned.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
Talking to God – After you are done listening, pray that verse back to God. Is there a reason for praise and thanksgiving? Do you need to confess anything? What do you need from God? What do you need to surrender to him? Pray the verse over your three people.
Ministering in God’s Name – Commit to sharing a story from your faith journey with those for whom you are praying that will reveal the joy, peace, trust, or hope you experience in your relationship with Christ. What are other specific tangible ways you can reflect these qualities or help those for whom you are praying experience them?
Surrendering to God – Ask God to daily make you more and more aware of his joy, peace, trust and hope in your life, and to give you opportunities to live out those characteristics so others can see them and glorify God.
