Immanuel Christian Reformed Church has been an anchor for its corner of Wyoming for decades.
In this small-church environment, members become like family to each other, serving each other’s needs, as well as those of their community.
When Immanuel discovered the depth of the need for the teenagers in the Kelloggsville school district to have a safe and engaging after-school gathering place, they founded the DOCK – an organization devoted to the Discipling of Christ’s Kids. This drop-in center for kids between 6th and 12th grades functions as an independent community center where kids can hang out, get homework help, talk with an adult, have a snack, and hear the Gospel. Although the DOCK is now sponsored by a number of churches, Immanuel members are frequent volunteers, playing games with kids, providing food, and giving the kids the gift of a stable adult presence in their lives.

If something needs doing, they roll up their sleeves and get to work.[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”The Dock” open=”no”]This after-school drop-in center for teens between grades 6-12 in the Kelloggsville school district is open three days a week. It’s a secure place to hang out without getting into trouble, a warm place where an adult is always available to listen, a supportive place where kids can do on their homework, and an encouraging place where kids can learn about the Gospel. They also have a small mentorship group that meets year-round, called BreakThrough. BreakThrough kids also participate in fun events, practical missions, and retreats in the summer.[/fusion_toggle][/fusion_accordion][/fusion_content_box]
