Jabez Ministries continues to evolve and grow as God leads us.

When I reflect on where we were when we started in 2012, it’s definitely the same ministry, but but our mission has been refined and is articulated more precisely over those 13 years.

Jabez Ministries is more than a campus ministry to persons with disabilities, it’s a ministry by persons with disabilities. We’re missionaries for Christ, with our stories of grace in and with our disabilities, we also try to shine our perspectives of scripture to a world that, all too often, sees only our disabilities and not our gifts.

In Exodus 4:10-12 we read:
“But Moses said to the LORD, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” [11] Then the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? [12] Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.”

The words translated as “gave”. or “made” in the text don’t mean the same as “create.” The words mean to “utilize” or to “make use of”. God takes people and “makes use” of them not according to their natural abilities, or natural inabilities, but gives them gifts to serve his purpose and his glory.

New people who attend our meetings for the first time are not asked: “What are your disabilities?” But, rather: “what are your gifts?”

We’re rather different and unique as far as ministries go, and we appreciate your continued supportthat uniqueness with your prayers and financial support.

Blessings and Thanks!
