Now in his mid-50s, Eric had been in and out of incarceration since he was a teen. He came to 70×7 Life Recovery in July 2025 and said he felt his was his last chance, his last hope to make the changes necessary to be successful. He had always gone back to old ways and old habits in the past and he didn’t want that for himself anymore.
Eric started attending Changes classes. He not only was working on employment and other soft skills he needed to find a job, but he also was working on himself and changing the way he viewed himself, the world around him and his old habits. He worked hard in class, attended faithfully, and showed that he was ready to commit to the changes he was making. 70×7’s Employment Services Manager, Ken Franks, made a call and got him connected at Butterball. Eric started work in August, has been excited to be there and loves working. He started work at an entry level position but already has shown the skills to move up to a lead role.
While Eric was starting this job, he was also simultaneously looking for housing. 70×7 was able to place him at our newly renovated Benson House. He has a great attitude and has been encouraging and supportive of all his fellow housemates. He was recently moved up to a House Manager position at Benson. Eric has the gift of lifting people up and holding them accountable at the same time.
We are so very proud of the hard work Eric has been doing in his life and the progress he is making. He also was able to purchase a vehicle with money he saved at his job and is looking forward to his new future.
